Summer means ice cream, sleeping in, and reading to the sound of the ocean. Or a wave machine, if you're not near a beach. We feel your pain. I chatted with Celine from celinereads (check out her book-devoted Instagram here) to bring you some recommendations based on our biggest summertime mantras: "Over Worked and Under Caffeinated" and "Ice Cream is Cheaper than Therapy".Â
Fangirl by Rainbow RowellÂ
You know when you read a really good book and you can't put it down so you binge read it until you basically pass out at four in the morning but then have to go to work or class in a few hours?  As a hardcore book lover, I know that feeling all too well.  Without caffeine, I don't think that I would be able to balance school, work, and reading, which is the reason why I love the shirt "Overworked and Under Caffeinated" so much. This shirt also reminds me of this book I read called, "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell.  It is one of my favorite books because it's very relatable.  Also, one of the main characters is a barista at Starbucks so this is where the caffeine aspect of the shirt comes into play.  Cath, the protagonist, is a college student, who like the rest of us college students, are way too overworked.  "Fangirl" was one of those books that I stayed up reading even though I had to go to class in a few hours because it's just that good.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
How about when you read a book that leaves you speechless, but also makes you sad and then you don't know what to do with yourself after because you're just a puddle of emotions?  Again, I also know that feeling too well.  My cure for this is having a scoop or two of ice cream.  I mean, who doesn't love ice cream? My favorite flavor is pistachio, but I also like the occasional rocky road. When I think of the "Ice Cream is Cheaper than Therapy" tee, I think of a "feel good" book, which is "The Unexpected Everything" by Morgan Matson.  There are dogs and ice cream on the cover, so what's not to love. Yes, the cover is fantastic, but the book is equally so. TUE is one of those summery books that made me smile and want to hang out with my friends and spend more time with my family. Basically, it has it all.
With these recommendations to match our comfortable tees, sit back and enjoy the relaxing summer you deserve. If only for a day.
